Fortune.com reports that Research In Motion and AT & T’s latest incarnation of the BlackBerry, originally expected for release in June, may be facing delays due to an unspecified “technical glitch”. It’s just a coincidence that this mysterious glitch has cropped up now, is not it?
Sources close to RIM and AT & T have reportedly stated that the delay occurs, to firms to raise, with Apple’s latest offer to the gods of the sleek gadgetry, should be released in June. A spokeswoman for RIM abstained from comments on the “rumors and speculation”.
The delay of the phone can be used as a lack of courage in the face of adversity in the parts of RIM and AT & T, but the possibility, swallowed by a tidal wave of iPhone hype is a very real. This could very well work to the advantage of RIM and AT & T - as long as they can be a variety of functions competitive. Only time, and subsequent reports sales, will tell.
