iPhone, will always be successful?

IPhones, iPod, iTunes - sometimes it is difficult to forget that the Apple product, it is not by the letter “i”, but the fact Apple, and it is a personal computer.

This is a good week to think about that fact. While Wall-Street analysts-hunting were “lost” 2 million phone with a fervor operational by the CIA in the footsteps of weapons of mass destruction, Apple continues to carry a weapon of its own: Leopard . And it is in reality a weapon of Mac increase in sales compared to sales of PCs in an environment of ever more quickly.

As he made his debut acclaimed scores late last year, the new Mac operating system was a big surprise to get there and gain market share from Apple, and (less surprising), blown by Microsoft’s Windows Vista polls in consumer satisfaction.

The good news (Apple’s point of view) on the Mac distribution and bad news about the iPhone released are not directly related, of course. But they show a number of strengths - and weaknesses - inherent in the business model of Apple.

Apple can do what it wants more and more, with the Mac platform, and if it is doing very well, given that recent Mac-PC and the leopard OS, the company is gaining in large part. But this is not the same freedom on the iPhone - its dependence on partnerships with AT & T and other vehicles means he has done to some of their concerns, perhaps the most decisive disadvantage iPhone. This fear is what lies behind the “iPhone lost” dilemma.
