The Rocket Racing League, on Monday detailed plans to release a science-fiction imagination to commercial enterprises in their own right - including drag racing with vertical missiles.

At a press conference at the Yale Club in New York, Rocket Racing League CEO Granger Whitelaw, said rocket-powered aircraft were flying their first race in August exposure to air, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with at least three other races to follow in 2008.

In 2009, the league is expected that the official launch of the race of the season where prices are cash on the line.
