A major upgrade of Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) ’s operating system Windows Vista could leave computers vulnerable to hackers and malicious software, because the service pack often prevents several antivirus programs of the company, said the ‘business.
The list of security products for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 contains 7.1 blocks ZoneAlarm Security Suite, Trend Micro Internet Security 2008, 10 and BitDefender. In addition, blocking the 2008 version of the anti-virus product Jiangmin.
Microsoft said that the blocks occur because anti-virus programs are not compatible with Windows Vista SP1. “For reasons of reliability, Microsoft is blocking these programs from articles, after installation of SP1 of Windows Vista,” said the company in a statement on Wednesday, taking charge of their website.
Microsoft Vista SP1 also said to prevent a small number of other programs to function properly, including Novell’s agent ZCM and The New York Times, the software players.
This is not the first glitch SP1 for Windows Vista. Microsoft withdrew earlier this week by the Windows Update Web site, a file which is a prerequisite for the Service Pack. The company said, the file is known simply as KB937287 can lead to what the host computer in a never-ending spiral boots and restarts.
